I follow the Amazon AWS project as it is the backend engine that we use in BeeBackup. Its a fantastic system and extremely reliable.  The AWS Datacenter is a world class data archiving and storage.

I selected Amazon AWS as the datacenter for BeeBackup because of the quality of services that Amazon provides.  I did not want to trust my content to just any "fly by night" datacenter.

I have confidence that Amazon will be around for a long time to come and that my data will be secure and safe.

I frequently get asked how I manage all my files on my computer... I have a ton of video, pictures and documents... Not to mention all the code files and other work related files that I can't afford to loose.

My strategy is simple.  I ensure that the files that I can't recreate are in my backup set and the rest of the files that I can make or locate someplace else I dont worry about...

For example:  All my pictures and vide are arranged on my system in folders by date Year/Month to be exact.  I then have my BeeBackup filter pointed at the top level folder for all my pictures.  This way I know that enything new I put into my photo library will automatically be stored and archived offsite.  I can sleep well at night knowing that my pictures are backed up.   To me these are the most important thing... They are impossible to recover if ever lost.  My 2 year old's birthday party's only come one time.  There is NO WAY that I want to loose those images and never be able to look back at those smiling faces.

For the next type or orginization that I try to do I put all my work files on a seperate drive.  I carry all my files for work on an external USB device.  This makes it easy for me to move the files from Computer to Computer at work or to upgrade my work system without somuch as a blink.  I recently purchased a 300 GIG USB drive that I currently store all my work stuff on.   This is usually documents and source code.  I also point my BeeBackup at the Removable drive... This way when it is attached it is also streaming the files to a safe and secure location online in the event that the Removable drive ever gets lost of stolen... or more likley I wreck it by droping it or crunching it under something heavy. =)

Finally my last file strategy is to have a "live backup" folder on my desktop.  Anything that I need backed up quickly and stored offsite I drag and drop to this folder.  I have a filter setup in BeeBackup that points directly to this folder and stores all file types to the offsite backup location.  This way I can be sure that these files will make it out to the backup location quickly and with no worries.   See my live demonstration of how I do this coming up later this month.

Please let us know if there is anything we can help you with!  My goal is to ensure that you are confident that your files are safe and that you dont have to worry about backup ever again.
